Early functional evaluation of new treatments in oncology is of major importance as the treatments´efficacy must be ascertained as soon as possible. Since new therapies often induce lesion necrosis without reducing tumor volume international oncology and radiology experts have pointed out that the morphological criteria currently used for solid tumors are no longer pertinent.
